THUNDER READY FOR SUNS
GAME DAY DETAILS
NEAFL Round 14
Saturday 30th June- 6pm
NT Thunder vs Gold Coast Suns Reserves
TIO Stadium, Darwin
NT Thunder return to TIO Stadium to face the Gold Coast Suns Reserves in a Saturday Night blockbuster this weekend. Thunder and the Suns have played out some epic battles over the last two seasons with Thunder coming out on top on both occasions. The most memorable of these games was round two 2011. Thunder trailed the Suns by five goals at three quarter time in torrential rain at TIO Stadium. Many people wrote Thunder off that night but it was the last quarter of the match that was the starting platform for what would eventuate to be a memorable season.
This year it was Thunder’s turn to travel to Queensland to face the Suns and on a perfect day at Metricon Stadium, the Territory’s team again showed why the are one of the teams to beat in this years competition defeating the Suns by 18 points.
Thunder have a number of big names coming back into the side for this weeks match including William Kossack, Kevin Vearncombe and Austin Wonaeamirri. They will be without the strength and experience of Full Back Jason Roe for the match who is battling ankle soreness. This weeks team will also be without its Under 18 players who have travelled to Melbourne to play in their National Championships.
This game is sure to be one of the matches of the season and one that you don’t want to miss. So make sure you get along to TIO Stadium this Saturday night to cheer on your team.
For Thunder fans that aren’t able to make it to the game the match will be shown live via NT Thunders YouTube account. To watch the game live simply visit the clubs website and click on the Thunder Vision logo. www.territoryfc.com.au

COACHES PREVIEW- ROUND 14
Well there is really ‘No place like home’ and we are all very excited after the bye to have the next 2 games here at TIO stadium. Our first challenge at home is against the Gold Suns Reserves, who will have a number of senior players a chance to return this weekend. Campbell Brown, Jarrod Harbrow and Andrew McQualter are all set to undergo fitness tests. This will surely provide strength to their list depth, which has been tested by injury in recent weeks. It is always a very tough challenge to compete against any AFL reserves side and this weekend will be no different against a Gold Coast side that in recent weeks has shown good form, with a very comprehensive win over Broadbeach and a close loss to ladder leaders Brisbane prior to the bye.
We welcome back a number of players to fill the positions of the Under 18 representatives who will miss the next two weekends as they compete for the Division 2 National Title in Melbourne against Qld and Tasmania. Best of Luck to those boys. It looks to be a fantastic clash this Saturday night against the Suns and I urge all Thunder supporters to get out to TIO and show their support in what is our first home game of 5 in the next 8 weeks, as we make a run at the NEAFL finals for 2012.

The next 7 days is going to be a very important time for a lot of these young men. This is their opportunity to play in front of some of the most influential people in the AFL recruitment industry. We have done a lot of planning and preparation leading into this week and I know that the players are more then ready for the challenges that lay ahead.
This week provides a great opportunity for the players to spend time getting to know each other better and going over our game plan together which can only benefit us in the long term.
